Pulse Repeater, Pulse Extender and Pulse Timer
Create adds three brass diodes that handle time better than the vanilla repeater. The Pulse Repeater fires a brief pulse once a delay has passed, the Pulse Extender stretches a signal, and the Pulse Timer is a ready-made clock. All three are set from 2 ticks up to an hour with their value panel, and their output can be inverted.

The Pulse Repeater
However long the incoming signal is, the Pulse Repeater only gives back a 2-tick pulse, after the set delay. In the loop the delay is 30 ticks: the lamp lights once, a little over a second and a half after the lever, and that is all.
Very long delays

The value panel goes from 2 ticks up to an hour. At 120 ticks the pulse comes six seconds after the lever: our simulation counts the ticks one by one, just like the block.
The Pulse Extender
The extender does the opposite: it turns on two ticks after its input and stays on for as long as the input lasts, plus the set delay. A quick button press becomes a signal several seconds long.
It holds the output after the signal ends

Once the input is off, it counts down: the lamp stays lit for the delay, here 30 ticks, then goes dark at once. A new signal during the countdown starts it over.
Up to an hour as well

At 120 ticks the lamp stays lit six seconds after the signal ends. For corridor lights or a door that closes by itself, this is the block you want.
The timer, a clock ready to place
The Pulse Timer needs nothing to run: it sends a 2-tick pulse every [delay] ticks. Set to 30, the lamp blinks once every second and a half, with no dust or comparator.
Setting the interval

The value panel sets the interval: here 100 ticks, one pulse every five seconds. The default is 20 ticks, one per second.
An input that pauses it
Powering the back of the timer stops it and resets its counter. As soon as the signal goes away, it starts again with a pulse. That way a lever, a Threshold Switch or a Smart Observer can switch a clock off.
Inverting the output

A right-click on the timer's base inverts its output: it stays on and drops for an instant on every beat. The other two brass diodes invert the same way.
Setting the delay
Scrolling on the value panel changes the delay. The display follows the scale: in ticks up to 60, then in seconds, then in minutes past 1,200 ticks. One tick is a twentieth of a second. The same panel exists on all three diodes.
Which one to pick?
To delay and shorten: the Pulse Repeater. To stretch: the Pulse Extender. To repeat forever: the Pulse Timer. Minecraft's repeater delays by 4 ticks at most; the brass diodes go up to an hour and need no dust around them.
Build ideas
On our server
On Create France, a timer set to a few seconds is enough for most automatic farms. Avoid very fast clocks on machines that do not need them, and switch a clock off when its farm is full.
