Redstone Requester and Table Cloth

The Redstone Requester is a ticker without a screen: it remembers one order, items, amounts and an address, and sends it to the package network at every redstone pulse. A button, a clock or a sensor is enough to trigger a delivery. The Table Cloth is for shops: placed on a table, it shows an article and its price to the keeper's customers.

A stored order

The requester joins the network like a Stock Link: right-click an existing link before placing it, to copy its frequency. Its interface then lets you build an order: the items you want, their amounts and the address to deliver them to. It stays stored in the block.

Linked to the warehouses

As with a Stock Ticker, the network's warehouses fill the order: each linked Packager prepares its share and ships it to the requested address. The requester itself stores nothing and can be anywhere.

One pulse, one delivery

Every redstone pulse sends the order once. A button next to a forge can thus bring 64 coal on demand. A redstone clock turns it into a regular delivery, and a Threshold Switch into an automatic order as soon as a local store runs low.

Example: the automatic forge

A requester set to "16 coal, address Forge" is wired to a Threshold Switch against the forge's fuel chest. When the chest drops below 32 coal, the switch sends a pulse, the network delivers 16 coal, and the forge never goes out. The same setup works for a farm's food, a turret's arrows or a building site's cement. Because the order is stored in the block, nobody needs to open any screen once it is set up: the redstone does all the asking.

The Table Cloth

The Table Cloth comes in sixteen colours, plus andesite, brass and copper versions (Table Covers). Placed on the floor or on a block, it covers the top and hangs over the sides, enough to dress up a market or a dining hall. Neighbouring cloths join up.

Opening a shop

Stock Ticker, Table Cloths and a shop's warehouse

A Create 6 shop combines a Stock Ticker with a seated keeper, table cloths and a warehouse linked to the network. The owner sets up each cloth from the ticker: it then shows the article on offer, lying on the table, and its lot size.

Setting a price

Table Cloth set up as a stall, with a price slot

Each stall has a price slot: set the item asked as payment and its amount, for instance 3 diamonds for a lot of 16 ingots. A customer's right-click on the cloth adds the article to their Shopping List, an item that can be filled at several stalls.

Paying and getting delivered

Packages leaving the shop's warehouse on a belt

The customer brings the list to the keeper seated by the ticker and pays. The network immediately prepares the order's packages, which leave the warehouse for the shop's address, where the customer collects them. The payment is kept by the ticker, where the owner collects it.

On Create France

Table cloth shops are the simplest way to trade between players on our server: they work even while the shopkeeper is offline. Remember to lock the network from the ticker, so that customers can only buy.

About the pictures

Interfaces, articles on the cloths and packages prepared on demand are not animated by our renderer: this page is illustrated with stills of the Ponder scenes.
